Introduction

Aqueducts of modernity. Game changers and accelerators of new technologies.

Unlike their grandiose ancient predecessors, they can work against gravity and transport water over any height. This is probably the most effective, sustainable and elegant way to solve pressing water, energy and environmental problems.

No other country or continent is as well-placed as Australia to drive disruptive new technologies. Other countries may have comparable climatic conditions, but they lack either the political conditions or the land mass to create anything comparable. In most cases, both.

That’s why getting even the boldest ideas off the ground won’t be a problem. The capital flowing into bitcoin and other artificial investments, for example, can now find a home where significant value can be created. That’s why this will be a self-runner, where you can choose the investors. You can even introduce some sort of vetting process to prevent criminally acquired money from being laundered. Meanwhile, new lucrative investment opportunities will open up for small savers that are second to none. More importantly, Australia can reinvent itself by bringing ecology and economy together uniquely. Not least by healing the suffering habitats so threatened by climate change.

A joint venture between Australian and European companies with the skills to join forces is an excellent way to achieve this. Contacts with leading technology developers are already underway. For possible crowdfunding, I see good opportunities to work with the respected Fraunhofer Institute to provide scientific support.

With an ambitious outlook for the New Year, 24 will be happy to bring together the best people and companies from our two continents to form the necessary poles. Please also remember that those who were first threatened by climate change are best placed to emerge from it.
