that sweeps away the old to make room for the new. In this case, it is the airspace that can be opened up in a much simpler way than is even conceivable in the prevailing way of thinking. The instruments have long been on the table. They just need to be brought together in a slightly different way than previously envisaged.
As it is much easier and, above all, safer to have an aircraft fly automatically, as it has a completely wider dimension at its disposal than is possible with a vehicle on a road, the last type of locomotion can be reduced to what is absolutely necessary. Before the big yelp starts, let me ask you in advance: isn’t it much more exciting to be catapulted into the air at 200 km/h in 4 seconds than to be bumped bumper to bumper through city traffic, or to be dependent on the ability, and unfortunately very often the inability, of other participants on motorways and motorways?
The flock of birds leads the way, performing the most skilful formation flights in unimaginable numbers, as impressively demonstrated by colonies of starlings. The fact that we are able to follow this example, at least once, and have thousands of drones flying in a very confined space without them getting in each other’s way, shows the direction in which autonomous flying will develop.
As the current architecture always requires a lot of ground space, the next steps will connect everything together. Instead of constructing large-scale, new roads and areas of sealed buildings that look like foreign bodies in nature, which itself is alien to such angular and square shapes, the new architecture will be part of it, the possibility of building on stilts practically weightless.
This is where the possibility of 3D printing comes into play, combined with new material combinations that enable high strength with a filigree design. As research into such materials is being carried out worldwide, more and more suitable materials are becoming available for every application, which are in no way inferior to those of the Romans from antiquity, who can be seen as a great role model. However, they also had exactly the right volcanic ash at their disposal. You have to come up with that first, which is now being attempted to be reconstructed in a roundabout way.
So instead of continuing in the current style and further sealing our valuable soil, the motto should be: Use the wrecking ball as often as possible so that the soil can breathe again, which will benefit our own after all. Perhaps this is the way to see our neighbour not as an opponent or even an enemy, but as a friend who we enjoy meeting and talking to.
In this way, we may also find our way back to a natural way of life in which we are an enriching part rather than an opponent. If our own instincts return, we can do without many of our achievements, as we no longer have to take courses to deal with each other in an uncomplicated way. We will be happy to focus on our feet, which are always the best way to get around and should be exercised as often as possible if we want to manage without a walking frame in old age.
